The Lost Boy Project
The Role: Director, Cinematographer & Editor
The Vibe: Lo-fi / Cinematic / Nostalgic
The Challenge: How do you capture a universal emotion with zero budget? During the pandemic, the feeling of "aimlessness" was everywhere. I wanted to translate that collective uncertainty into a visual poem, using only the tools I had in my pocket.
The Strategy: I leaned into a "Guerrilla Filmmaking" approach. By pairing Jaden Smith’s Lost Boy with raw, handheld footage of my friends longboarding into the sunset, I aimed to capture a "moment in time" rather than a scripted story. The goal was to make the viewer feel the beauty of having no direction.
The Making: I directed and shot the entire piece on an iPhone, utilizing natural golden-hour lighting to create a high-end cinematic feel on a $0 budget. I handled the post-production in Adobe Premiere Pro, focusing on rhythmic editing and color grading to mirror the hazy, dreamlike energy of the soundtrack.
